This story had promise, but the characters were flat and wish-washy. The plot jumps around, tends to be jerky in action and never fleshed out. For an example that doesn't give away the story: her friends visit, and she worries what they will see since she can't get them to drink the water, and yet she takes them to Insomnia and leaves them there without concern. So you have the worry, the build-up, the potential 'big deal' conflict and .....pppfft-nothing. No Joy.They did finally get the water AFTER being in Insomnia, but no other KP/NF book would bring humans without knowledge into Insomnia. Also, there is no further mention of friends except when they leave, and that's pretty lame.
With the romance, you expect a couple of big moments- some conflict between brothers or mother etc, but they fall pretty flat too. This story reads like an outline or skeleton that hasn't been fleshed out, but with some editing and feedback, might be NF worthy.

A rather disjointed story that doesn't flow well. The story being choppy with characters that appear and leave, without advancing the plot or to have anything to do with the plot. It seems like the author couldn't decide what to have for scenes so put them all in.
I liked the story. There were a few spots where it jumped a little too fast and left me confused and having to go back and reread. However, still a very good story. I liked the characters very much.
This book was fabulous as are all the Nocturne Falls Universe books. Nocturne Falls is a series I love and a town I would love to visit. This story is about psychic wanting to ignore her gift and live as a human until her grandmother does something drastic and forces Jess to face her gift and use it for the great good. Loved this book.
I think all of the Nocturne Falls books by the guest authors have been AWESOME !! They blend the stories in and they flow. I want to move to Nocturne Falls and live !!!! I have told friends about this series and they look at me like I'm nuts because I get so involved when I explain the town and the people who live there. I CAN NOT WAIT FOR MORE BOOKS !!!! EVERYONE KEEP WRITING !!!!
I liked the couple's meet-cute (Ryan helps out with the charity event Jess is helping organize). That was one of the best parts of the story. While the couple battled off Ryan's evil mom (who wants him to stick to shapeshifters only), and Jess' psychic skills help them rescue when rescuing is needed, I felt the story felt a little piece-meal. Other than the overarching theme of Ryan and Jess falling in love, the rest of the plot seemed disconnected, with many small problems and climaxes but nothing that really held on to my attention for very long (or took very long in the story, either).
I loved this story. The story is about Ryan, a falcon shifter, and Jess, a girl from a family of clairvoyants. As with many of the NFU books, we get treated to new characters from new species, which provides for a very entertaining read. the author did a great job of weaving the details of the paranormal traits of these two characters in the story. I especially liked the way that Connor's character revels itself the further along that the story goes. Solange, Ryan's mother, is quite the....well mother. The author leads the reader down a path of discovery with her characters that I really enjoyed. I also thought that she developed the growing relationship between Jess and Ryan really well. The connection between the two drew the reader deeper into the story.
I am looking forward to the next book, especially hoping to learn more about Echo Stargazer's adventures!
This is absolutely the worst, most whisy-washy "heroine" I have every seen. She wants a job in Boston, she wants to stay in Nocturn Falls, she wants a job in Boston, she wants to live in Nocturn Falls (but only if she gets the guy). She wants the younger brother, she wants the older brother.... She doesn't feel as if the magical community accepts her, she refuses to use her magical abilities. . Please, lady, grow some ovaries and make a commitment to something. Anything. By the time the HEA happens, the reader is so weathered by her indecision that you just don't trust it.
